Freshwater Biodiversity

Climate change will alter the structure and composition of freshwater ecological communities, the way these ecosystems function and the services they provide. Research is needed to support governments, conservation agencies, landowners, communities and individuals to implement effective adaptation strategies. NCCARF, together with the National Water Commission, has funded $2.5 million in research to meet the priority research questions identified in the National Climate Change Adaptation Research Plan for Freshwater Biodiversity.
