This presentation from the Four Degrees or More? Australia in a Hot World Conference discusses whether we can successfully adapt to four degrees of warming by examining three socio-economic scenarios in the future. The scenarios include an inequitable society poorly equipped to handle hazards and incapable of managing risks, a highly-urbanized equitable society that lives in fear of water or food shortages and the risk of fire or flood, and an outward-looking society that is resilient to the impacts of climate change through policies embedded in concepts of equity and social justice.
