As part of Phase 2 activities, NCCARF is developing a framework for understanding and managing climate risks, including sea-level rise in the coastal zone, in order to provide local governments and associated stakeholders with the skills, information and tools to support effective decision making. This framework is currently known as the NCCARF Coastal Tool. As part of the foundation activities for the Tool, the State-of-Play Report is designed to provide a detailed assessment of the existing science and regulatory framework in which the Coastal Tool will need to operate.
The Research Scoping Report begins the process of identification of the research projects that need to be carried out to ensure that NCCARF has the necessary information to design, develop and implement the Coastal Tool. Its findings emerge from the knowledge and understanding gathered during preparation of the State-of-Play Report.
