Node 2 - Urban Management, Transport and Inclusion
- The Adelaide node will lead in the exploration of the implications of projected demographic change in Australian cities and regions for future settlement form and in the critical assessment of integrated land use planning and transport policies in reducing emissions and adapting to climate change.
- Access to the resources of the National Centre for Social Applications of Geographic Information Systems (GISCA) and the Barbara Hardy Institute will be utilised.
- Professor Ruth Fincher of the Melbourne Sustainable Society Institute at University of Melbourne will join this node providing expertise in the exploration of social inclusion, cultural and economic aspects related to adaptation, community vulnerability to climate change and aspects of adaptive consumer behavior.
- Expertise in the area of urban transport planning outcomes will draw on the Urban Research Program at Griffith University, led by Dr Neil Sipe and Dr Jago Dodson.
