Mar 26: Funding available for Marine Biodiversity & Resources research
Minister for Climate Change, Energy Efficiency and Water the Hon Penny Wong and Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry the Hon Tony Burke today released the National Climate Change Adaptation Research Plan: Marine Biodiversity and Resources and announced the allocation of $5.5 million funding for research that meets the priorities identified in the Plan.
The Plan identifies five main areas for investigation:
- marine aquaculture
- commercial and recreational fishing
- conservation management
- tourism and recreational uses
- cross cutting issues
The Call will be administered by the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC) and is a collaborative funding arrangement between the FRDC, NCCARF, and the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency.
How to apply
- All applicants should first download a copy of the National Climate Change Adaptation Research Plan: Marine Biodiversity and Resources here

A series of information sessions was held throughout Australia in April. Presentations from the sessions are now available online, particularly for people who were unable to attend a session.
