Dec 8: Research funding for Health Challenges of Climate Change now available

Proposals are invited for funding for research to address the health challenges of climate change

The National Health and Medical Research Council is working with NCCARF and the Department of Climate Change to identify and support research to address the health challenges from global climate change, specifically:

  • Health impacts of climate change which are of national importance, including water quality, infectious diseases, the capacity of the health system to cope with disasters and the health benefits or adverse health effects of adaptation and mitigation strategies.

This funding call is a collaborative arrangement between the NHMRC, NCCARF, and the Department of Climate Change. Approximately $5 million is available in this round.

Information sessions

The Adaptation Research Network for Human Health will hold two Information Sessions  for prospective applicants to the research call:

  • Adelaide: Tuesday 19 January 2010 from 10.30am-3pm at the University of Adelaide, South Australia
  • Townsville: Thursday  21 January 2010 from 10.30am-3pm in the Raintree Room, James Cook University, Townsville, Qld
