National Adaptation Research Plans
National Adaptation Research Plans are an important tool for coordinating climate change adaptation research across Australia. The plans identify critical gaps in the information available to decision-makers in key vulnerable sectors and regions, set national research priorities, and identify science capacity that could be harnessed to conduct priority research. These Plans have been developed around a number of priority themes:
- Download National Climate Change Adaptation Research Plans - Summary (3.4mb) This document summaries the priority research questions identified in all completed Plans
- Terrestrial Biodiversity
- Human Health
- Marine Biodiversity & Resources
- Freshwater Biodiversity
- Settlements and Infrastructure
- Social, Economic & Institutional Dimensions
- Emergency Management
- Primary Industries
- Indigenous communities
The development of each Plan was led by a small drafting team in partnership with the Australian Government Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency, researchers, and key stakeholders.
