Professor Jean Palutikof
Director
Tel: 07 5552 7734
Email: j.palutikof@griffith.edu.au
Professor Jean Palutikof is Director of the National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility at Griffith University. She took up the role in October 2008, having previously managed the production of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Fourth Assessment Report for Working Group II (Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability), while based at the UK Met Office.
Prior to joining the Met Office, she was a Professor in the School of Environmental Sciences, and Director of the Climatic Research Unit, at the University of East Anglia, UK, where she worked from 1979 to 2004, and a Lecturer at the Department of Geography, University of Nairobi, Kenya, from 1974 to 1979.
Her research interests focus on climate change impacts, and the application of climatic data to economic and planning issues. She specialises in the study of changes in extreme events and their impacts, especially windstorm. She was a Lead Author for Working Group II of the IPCC Second and Third Assessment Reports. She has authored more than 200 papers, articles and reports on the topic of climate change and climate variability. Her proudest moment to date was attending the ceremony in 2007 at which the IPCC was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
Dr David Rissik
Deputy Director (General Manager)
Tel: 07 5552 8247
Email: d.rissik@griffith.edu.au
Dave is an environmental scientist with 20 years experience in water quality, estuarine and marine ecology, and natural resource management. He has a strong interest in the use of science to inform mangement and policy and works hard to ensure that this occurs. Dave has a PhD in biological sciences from the University of NSW.
He has experience in overseeing large research projects that are integrative in nature, and continues to be part of ARC Linkage Project teams. He has works in NSW and Queensland governments and held adjunct positions at UNSW, Sydney University and Griffith University.
Dave is a President of the Australiasian Chapter of the Society of Wetland Scientist. NCCARF provides an opportunity for Dave to use his experience and skills to ensure that work we do with our partners contributes strongly to the capacity of Australians to adapt to climate change and to assist researchers to build skills in the area of synthesis and integration.
Richard McKellar
Deputy Director (Research Manager)

Email: r.mckellar@griffith.edu.au
Richard has worked in climate change research, policy, planning and communication for more than 20 years. He has worked in a variety of roles in goverment in transport, regional and environmental planning and policy, carbon sequestration and bio-prospecting.
Liese Coulter
Knowledge Communication Manager
Tel: 07 5552 7735
Email: l.coulter@griffith.edu.au
Liese completed a Master of Science in communication with the Centre for the Public Awareness of Science at the Australian National University. She has managed communication for the Global Carbon Project, the Austaralian Biosecurity CRC and the CSIRO Climate Adaptation Flagship. Liese has presented on climate communication at the Public Communication of Science and Technology (PCST-10) conference in Malmö, Sweden and the Greenhouse 2009 conference in Perth.

Email: f.stadler@griffith.edu.au
Frank holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours from Macquarie University and in 2000 was awarded the Macquarie University Bill Cantwell Prize for outstanding achievements in Honours research. He investigated plant-herbivore relationships under elevated atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations and the symbiotic relationship between a sessile hydroid and its intertidal marine snail host.
Dr Daniel Stock
Research Coordinator
Tel: 07 5552 7225
Email: d.stock@griffith.edu.au
Daniel otained a PhD from Griffith University, Australia focussing on the competition between the environmental weed Lantana and sub-tropical rainforest in south-east Queensland to determine the forest's resilience to lantana invasion. He has published a book "The Dynamics of Lantana Invasion of Subtropical Rainforest: Can Subtropical Rainforest defend itself from the Environment Weed?"
His research interests focus on environmental weeds, rainforest ecology, rainforest invasion resilience and primary production extension.
