Adaptation Research Network - Emergency Management
The Adaptation Research Network for Emergency Management is hosted by RMIT University.
Professor John Handmer, Director of RMIT's Centre for Risk and Community Safety, is the convenor of this Network.
The Adaptation Research Network for Emergency Management will bring together researchers and stakeholders with an interest in the implications of climate change impacts, such as the changes in the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, for disaster mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.
If you would like to participate in this Adaptation Research Network, please contact: Professor John Handmer on 03 9925 2307 or email john.handmer@rmit.edu.au or Marie Waschka (NCCARF) on 07 5552 7735 or email m.waschka@griffith.edu.au.
The Adaptation Research Network for Emergency Management will work closely with NCCARF to implement the National Climate Change Adaptation Research Plan (NARP) for Emergency Management. For further information or to obtain a copy of the Plan visit National Adaptation Research Plan - Emergency Management.
The Australian Government made available $2m to fund research addressing the priorities identified in the NARP. The call for Expressions of Interest in these grants has now closed. Visit this site regularly for information on research opportunities.
